The Best Wine for Italian Chicken

Many wine connoisseurs believe that white wine is the only wine that should ever be served with a chicken dish. They are firm believers of the old adage that "white wine should be served with white meat." Still others believe that the wine should match the region so they believe that Italian wine is the only wine that should be served with an Italian dish.

However, some dare to disagree.

Many recommend Merlot, which is a red grape wine that has a plum and berry flavor for Italian chicken dishes. Pinot Grigio is also recommended for Italian chicken dishes that have which are nice tomato sauce base. Those who still prefer to stick with white wine will recommend Chardonnay, the most popular American white wine. Despite the debate, many believe that the final choice should be based on personal preference so whether you prefer red or white, enjoy!

When you go to Italy you will have plenty of time to enjoy Italian cooking. Personally I enjoy garlic soup, Italian poultry and chicken parmesan and if I don't know what wine to drink to my meal, I usually as the waitress for a wine recommendation.
